Civil Rights and Vietnam Impact Teen’s Coming of Age in the South

Cover: A very simple yet elegant cover that is as southern as the book, love the tree being the 12 symbol on the pocket watch.

My Thoughts: Now, I am southern which makes me love about reading where I come from, but just like anything author’s will either get it right like Margaret Mitchell, author of Gone with the Wind or horribly wrong. This book I am happy to report does it extremely well. The issues in this book resemble attitudes and things that occurred that are true blue realities in the deep south, and were for many other places years ago. The characters are lovable and this book made me very emotional. Could not put it down. Wonderful book with realistic details and characters and situations that made the story very emotive. D.J.
